Description
Surely the quintessentially British bird, the feisty little European robin (Erithacus rubecula) delights us with a beautiful song all year round.
Star of many a Christmas card, the male and female robins both have a bright red breast and will often fight to defend their territory.
At other times they can appear quite tame, following gardeners around in the hope a tasty meal will be unearthed.
